La traduction est en cours. Désolé. | Stallions knew that they would be facing a tough opponent after the Lasalle Warriors defeated the reigning champions North Shore Lions a week earlier but they got off to a great start by relying on the Ray Gaston offensive strategy and threw a long pass on the first play of the game. The ball was caught by S#25 at the Lasalle 50-yd line and it looked like he might make it all the way to the end zone except for a great defensive play by L#9 who pushed him out of bounds at the Lasalle 22-yd line. Three plays later they had a first down just six yards outside the end zone but S#44 lost three yards on the next play while the following two were incomplete passes. After getting pushed back five yards because of a penalty, Stallions went for it on 4th and goal from the 14-yd line but the Lasalle defense dialed up a blitz and they sacked the St-Lazare QB to force a turnover on downs. Stallions would not get any closer than the Lasalle 38-yd line after that as five of their six subsequent possessions ended in turnovers. When the Warriors offense went on the field they only needed three plays to score a touchdown and all the points they would need to win the game. As it turned out, they scored four more TDs, all of them following a Stallions turnover. S#25 stood out on offense with six catches for 103 yards while S#56 helped the defensive effort with an interception. S#50 led the defense with the most tackles. |

Note: the statistics above do not include the plays in the 1st quarter. Stallions kept it close for the first three quarters but ultimately they could not contain the Packers' strong running game. They also benefited from the Packers lack of discipline, who had several big plays, including a touchdown, called back because of penalties. Altogether, the Greenfield Park team had 12 penalties called against them for 130 yards. After falling behind 7-0 early in the game, Stallions had a chance to score points near the end of the 1st half with a first down at the Packers 25-yd line but that threat was extinguished by an interception. On their first possession of the 2nd half, Stallions again appeared poised to score some points when they moved 69 yards in eight plays and had a first down at the Packers 6-yd line but they could only get one yard closer to the end zone on the next three plays and they had to settle for a 12-yd field goal by S#3 to make the score 7-3. However, the home team responded immediately with a 3-play, 57-yd scoring drive that finished with a 23-yd run into the end zone by P#2 that made the score 14-3. Stallions went three-and-out on their next possession while the Packers struck quickly again, this time needing just four plays to score another TD on a 2-yd carry by their QB to make the final score 21-3. No player stood out on offense but there were a few notable contributions by the defense. S#21 recovered a fumble while S#34 ans S#99 combined on a sack. S#21 and S#19 led with the most tackles. |
