Just like earlier in the season (Sep. 4) when these same two teams played against each other, Stallions strong passing game beat the Bulldogs running game. In fact, Sherbrooke offense was kept in check by the Stallions defense and the only point it was able to score was a convert after a touchdown by the special team.

After Stallions punted on their first possession, the Bulldogs had the first good scoring chance when they got a first down at the Stallions 22-yd line. However, after gaining 2 yards on the first down play, S#99 sacked the Sherbrooke QB on the next play, forcing a fumble that was recovered by S#21. That would be the closest that the Bulldogs offense would get to the Stallions end zone for the rest of the game. Stallions offense then marched 54 yards the other way and ended their drive with a 20-yd field goal by S#88 to take a 3-0 lead.

After forcing the Bulldogs to go three-and-out, Stallions offense went back out on the field at its own 48-yd line. After losing 3 yards on the first two plays, Stallions then threw a 30-yd pass to S#7 who caught it in full stride and sprinted into the end zone to increase his team's lead to 10-0 (S#88 convert kick).

After an exchange of punts, the Bulldogs finally got on the scoreboard late in the second quarter when Stallions were punting from their own 32-yd line. Bulldogs B#82 fielded the ball at his own 32-yd line near the sideline then ran across the field, found some open space and continued all the way to the end zone to make the score 10-7 at the half time break (B#81 convert kick).

In the second half, the game got a bit sloppy as both teams started to turn the ball over, with the Stallions doing it on five of their eight possessions while the Bulldogs turned the ball on six of their eight drives. After a scoreless 3rd quarter, Stallions got the ball deep in their own end zone at the start of the 4th quarter. On a 2nd down play, they surprised the Bulldogs with a short pass to S#88 who caught the ball in double coverage and then outran the Sherbrooke defenders all the way to the end zone for a TD, which made the score 17-7.

The Bulldogs, however, would not go away quietly and their defense kept putting a lot of pressure on the Stallions offense and it was paying off for them because with 2:12 left to play they got the ball at the Stallions 36-yd line. Unfortunately, they could not take advantage of the opportunity and turned the ball over on downs. Just when it appeared that Stallions had the game won, though, they returned the favor and turned the ball over on the next play at their own 28-yd line. S#35, however, put an end to that threat when he intercepted a Bulldogs pass just five yards outside the end zone. Stallions then decided to err on the side of caution and conceded a safety, making the score 17-9 and giving the ball back to the Bulldogs with only 12 seconds left to play. Sherbrooke was still able to run two plays but once again S#35 came to the rescue when he made another interception.

On offense, S#88 stood out with 4 catches for 127 yards and 11 points scored.
On defense, S#35 stood out with 4 INTs while S#21 had one in addition to a fumble recovery. S#5 and S#46 led the team with the most tackles.

La traduction est en cours. Désolé. The opening drives for each team proved to be a preview of the rest of the game. First, Stallions fumbled the ball over on the first play of the game and C#82 recovered it at the St-Lazare 41-yd line. In two plays, the Cougars got to the Stallions 20-yd line but on the next play they fumbled it and S#35 recovered it. Stallions took advantage of the opportunity and in five plays got close to the middle of the field. Then, they handed the ball off to S#83 who found some open space near the sideline and ran 62 yards into the end zone to put the visitors in front 6-0 (convert kick failed).

However, on the ensuing kickoff, Stallions tried to surprise the Cougars with a short kick but C#80 fielded the ball at the Lakeshore 45-yd line and sprinted 65 yards to the end zone to give the home team a 7-6 lead (C#13 convert kick). Lakeshore came close to scoring more points on their next two drives but on both occasions they fumbled the ball and S#46 recovered it each time and the first quarter ended with Lakeshore ahead 7-6.

At the start of the 2nd quarter, Stallions put together a 10-play, 69-yd drive but it stalled at the Lakeshore 16-yd line and they chose to punt the ball. C#13 fielded the ball in the end zone but was not able to run it out and Stallions tied the score 7-7 with a rouge. The Cougars then responded with an 11-play, 80-yd drive that finished with a 2-yd TD run by C#38, which put them ahead 14-7.

It looked like the score might stand until the half time break but with only 38 seconds left to play Stallions had a promising drive cut short by an interception at the Lakeshore 28-yd line. It took the Cougars just one play after that to increase their lead to 21-7 with an 82-yd catch-and-run TD by C#80.

In the second half, both teams kept turning the ball over, three times for each one, and the only point that was scored was a rouge by C#65 that made the final score 22-7.

On offense, S#1 stood out with 16 carries for 114 yards while S#83 carried the ball eight times for 11 yards.
On defense, the players who stood out were S#46, who had one INT and two fumble recoveries, S#82 with one interception and S#35 with a fumble recovery. S#35 and S#48 led the team in tackles.
